I'm still here

It's been ages since I popped in to visit blogs let alone feed my own. I've been feeling so unwell due to some new  medication that had some unpleasant side effects but I'm all sorted now thank goodness.
On days I felt well enough, I got stuck into some sewing that's been on the list. This is dress number two out of the Gnomeville fabric. It's for Miss Sophie who is six. I'll never buy another Burda pattern after this one, it seemed to miss some steps and I'd rather not have to think too much and fill in the gaps. My Bernina played nice for the buttonholes which are my little phobia.
I seem to be stuck in all things red lately. These are the first lot of blocks for the Just Takes 2 quilt along. I'm doing mine in the red and white but there are others doing it and using lots of colour.
Progress has been steady on the Coxcomb and Currants project, I've done another two of these blocks and I'm currently working on the last one.
Is there anybody who is stitching the Trailing Vines quilt with me? I've uploaded the third panel for you. Just click on the Trailing Vines page underneath my header to go to the page with the links for downloading the patterns.
It's motivated me to draw up another panel to get stuck into this coming week but I'm also wondering if I'm putting lots of time into something that's not being used since I can't get any stats on the number of downloads. I'd love to hear of anyone making it.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. I haven't started the Trailing Vines yet but I have the fabric set aside and I am making copies of the pattern so please don't stop giving them to us.

So glad you are feeling much better now, Janet. ((hugs))
Miss Sophie's dress is just gorgeous! Love the red with polka dots! (esp on the toadstool house roof in the border!)

Just Takes 2 is on my list. Your blocks look great.

Thank you for the third panel of Trailing Vines. I just printed it out. I have my fabrics sorted, now it is time to start cutting and sewing! :)

Glad you got your medications taken care of. I noticed you have not post since the first of the year. I wish I could say I am doing the Trailing Vines but I'm not. Too much other stuff going on. I love your "Just take 2" also.
Hope you are feeling better and look forward to your next post.

That little dress is so sweet, I just love the fabric. I hate medication "things", going through something similar at the moment, it's nice to come through to the other side feeling better. Your trailing vines quilt is just beautiful!

The dress is adorable! Love the fabric. I had not seen it before -- just perfect for the dress. She is going to LOVE it.

Glad you are feeling better. Be good to yourself.

I have not started yet but it is definitely a quilt that I plan to make in the near future. It is just gorgeous!

There always seems to be side effects with every medication; it's just a matter of finding which ones you can live with. Sigh. I am doing the trailing vines, although not too much progress is being made. You have set a rollicking pace and I was relieved when you didn't post last month. Perhaps you can make it every other month, or every season? It is a big undertaking for you and us.

I am working on the trailing vines quilt! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

I have not started the vines quilt yet, but will! Thanks for sharing the patterns with us! I really do appreciate all the work that goes into it! And that dress is divine! I love anything with big dots.....makes me want to make something for me in dots! Love the reds!

Pleased you are feeling better - nothing worse if you are feeling ill. It seems you have done such a lot of work - and your dressmaking looks wonderful even though you may have had a problem with the pattern! Well done.

The dress you made is delightful--what fun fabrics!! Burda patterns do tend to assume you know alot about sewing their way & are kind of hard to follow. I love the trailing vines patterns that you have worked so hard to draw out for us. I have bought the background fabric (very light yellow with vintage look) and a wonderful green fabric for the vines. I am using up my rare scraps from cutting out small pieces from my 1880-1900 scraps collection. They will form the flowers, so they will not be in a place to take much stress. Thanks so much. Please continue to print out the patterns-great motivation to those in need!!

Sorry to hear you have not been well but glad you are feeling better now. Love the little dress! It's so cute! Can't wait to see Coxcomb & Currants finished and your red and white looks fantastic. I don't think you could ever get sick of red and white.

So pleased to hear you are feeling better now and have managed to get on top of things. Sometimes the side effects of drugs can be really nasty.
I adore Miss Sophie's wee dress, that is just so cute.

I'm glad you seem to have your meds worked out and are feeling better. I love the dress you made! I don't generally use Burda patterns, either. They're just very different than what I'm used to.

Do love what you've been up to. Your takes two blocks look great and the dress is so sweet - I found that with Burda patterns in the past too - haven't sewn one for years so its interesting they haven't changed. You've made great progress with your coxcombs blocks - gorgeous. Best wishes for those meds.

I've loved that Susan McCord quilt since I first saw it (probably on your blog). I've been following your most excellent progress and wished I could make the quilt too. That is now possible with you being so generous to provide the patterns. Please don't give up on us yet.

Thanks, Susan

The little dress is darling and you not only made that and another Coxcomb, but started the take 2 as well? Fabulous!
Please keep posting the trailing vines pattern. I'm sorting out some medical issues, then I intend to start on the vines. I have my patterns printed off and a box with fabrics set aside. Thank you so much for sharing!

I hope you'll keep posting the vines quilt panel patterns. They are wonderful. I just posted my finished first vine panel. I can't quite keep up with a panel per month but I have no intention of letting this one become a ufo!

To my mind, there is nothing better than a mushroom house, unless maybe it's a mushroom house on an adorable little girl's dress.

Nice to see your lovely red and white top progressing, and of course the fabulous C&C blocks (your little currants are so perfectly round).

So glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.

As a few other commenters have said, this one is on my list. I have three more applique blocks to finish my current project and then trailing vines is up next. I have to thank you for your tip about using the wavy rotary blade to prevent raveling. It works beautifully! I'm also glad you are feeling better and can't believe all you've gotten completed!

Though I'm not sewing along at this moment, I definitely hope to start one once I get a couple of my current projects finished up. So I've been downloading all the files in preparation so I'm ready to go!

Please don't stop sending the trailing vines pattern. I'm so intrigued by it, but I"m moving in a few weeks and my household goods are all on their way to Italy right now. I hope to start downloading this as soon as I can. You are doing a wonderful work here, preserving this lovely design and making it more accesible, and easy for others Thanks!
