I'm still here.

I didn't forget to blog, I just had to stay off the computer, doctors orders. I've had problems with my shoulder and neck which is slowly improving with treatment thank goodness. It has seriously cut my sewing time down too. David's been falling apart like Humpty Dumpty as well but he's nearly been put back together.
I wanted to share this beautiful Jacaranda I saw on one of our excursions out, it's one of the largest I've come across, the width of two houses. I think my new phone takes quite a good photo.
Ive been on extra Nana duties and did get the Christmas cake made last month with some help as you can see. I'm going to miss little Beth, she's been here most days and now the family have moved to another state.
Little random pieces of stitching has been happening from time to time, some hexagons, not a lot but it all adds to the pile.
I have managed to spend some evenings hand quilting. Summer hasn't got going yet, it's very late for here and we've had some cold weather. If it continues, I may even get it done, only two thirds of a border to go.
It's time for a coffee and a read of my new book, it's a great one and a must have for a lover of red and green quilts like me.
Hopefully I'll be back soon.

What a cute sous chef; I'm sure she was a big help with licking all the bowls clean. Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I can imagine that it must be frustrating to have to put sewing (and the computer) on hold. Look well after yourself .

Hope you are feeling better very soon, so you can get back to all of your sewing. The little one is just precious and hope you still get to see her very often. That jacaranda tree is just magnificent. I asked my local nursery guy whether they would grow here, and he said, sadly no, we are too far north of Santa Barbara! Really love the looks of that red and green book.

So good to hear from you, Janet.

Take care of yourself. Everything will be there waiting for you when you're 'up and running' again.

So glad to see you back!
I think i have had the same problems with shoulder and neck, right side. That's over now(took a long time) now it's left arm, also from the neck. It should get better, just takes time. Which we don't want to spent on things like that. So yes, it's very frustating. But not life threatening.
It will get better.

I hope you are back up and running soon! (I didn't copy that from the last comment LOL)
I love Jacaranda's, they are sooo beautiful in full bloom. The hexies look lovely and so does that book. At least they can distract you when you are missing your little helper.

Who would have thought blogging and sewing would be hazardous to our health. Be well and swift healing. The tree is stunning. We have them where I grew up.

First let me say little Beth is such a sweetie. Thanks for sharing her with us. I love that tree and your right - your phone takes GREAT pictures. I'm glad to read you're taking time away front the computer and resting like you should. We should all follow your example to avoid over-doing it. And thank you for dropping us a line and letting us know how you're doing. Warm heart, *karendianne.

Take care of your shoulder! I know it is a slow process. Christmas cake? Is this like our fruit cake? Recently, I was sewing with a girl from New Zealand and she mentioned Christmas cake as well. Sounds yummy! Your little helper is just adorable. Enjoy the book!

I haven't seen that book. I am using two different red/green books for the quilt I have been making. (well I haven't touched it in awhile but all I have left to make is a border for it)

Hope your shoulder mends soon. I've got left shoulder/arm/neck trouble right now.. horribly frustrating isn't it. Didn't know sewing was an extreme sport!

Hi Janet, Nice to "see" you... Hope you make a speedy recovery. Sorry to hear your granddaughter and her family are moving interstate. I don't know how my mother would cope if she didn't get her weekly dose of "Mary time"! I like the look of that red and green quilts book. Might go and order it online now. xx

I recently had a hand surgery. It's not easy sitting on the sidelines when there's sewing we want to do.
