I'm talking about Amy's blogger quilt festival. It's a good chance to see the quilts that may not necessarily be prize winners in a contest but are prizewinners in a personal sense.
I'm sharing the Licorice Allsorts quilt I made last year for one of my granddaughters. The pattern is from Kaffe Fassett's book Quilt Romance. I have to use some older photos because this one doesn't live at my place. I do have visiting rights so I was happy to give it to a very special person.
The grandkiddos play musical quilts and swap them around with each other because they're a sharing lot but this one doesn't get shared apparently.I used Anchor variegated perle cotton to quilt it which didn't take long at all and Quilters Dream Orient batting. I used acrylic circle templates for all the quilting designs which was a breeze to mark.
The fabric on the back is one of my favourite Kaffes called big blooms.
Thanks to Amy for organising this inspiring event and also to the sponsors who offer prizes

I love this Janet! Pickle-dish is one of my all-time favorites and you have created a real beauty!!! Of course, I love the stitching....just perfect :)
Beautiful, I love this quilt. The photo of it hanging from the wall is gorgeous - Enjoy the festival as well. Thanks for reminding me. I missed this one this year - Hugs Nat
It's beautiful Janet. I love all of the pretty colors, and I'm sure whichever grandchild has your quilt is enjoying it and appreciating it.
What a stunner! Love the backing fabric too!
Great quilt which is apparently very much appreciated. The pattern as well as the quilting are lovely. Big Blooms is also one of my all time favorite KF fabrics. I should buy lots in case he discontinues them.
Oh my Word! So lovely.
This is fabulous Janet. The variegated pearle was perfect for it. It's such a riot of color!
Love this! Beautiful front and back!
This is a beautiful quilt. Love both the pattern and the fabric you used. I don't think I would share it either.
This is such a beautiful quilt! I can see why it's not shared very often.
Love this one! Just divine!
Oh Janet, what a Beauty! and timeless... The quilting is fabulous and to be honest, I don't think I'd share it either! isn't it great when the little ones sense and protect the love that goes into our quilts? It's overwhelming really! :)
I love this quilt..great name for it too, love the big stitch quilting...I need to try that one day..

How nice that you have visiting rights. Your big stitch quilting makes the quilt even more special.
Love it, beautiful fabrics and the quilting design is perfect.
What a beautiful quilt! This is such a fabulous pattern! I think I need to move it to the top of my 'to-do' list!
This is a stunner Janet! Love the quilt and the handquilting is the icing on the cake!

A real treat for the eyes. I especially love the hand quilting design.
Just beautiful!
I love this quilt. Great pattern and colors and that big stitch quilting is fabulous. I think I may have to give it a try.
Oh my goodness, this is a gorgeous quilt. I love your hand stitches!
Such a happy quilt! Your hand quilting is exquisite! This pattern is on my list to do but don't know when... So tempting after seeing your today! There is always something fun and inspiring here!
It's a beautiful quilt that I'm happy to see again. It just makes me smile, especially knowing that one particular granddaughter is so possessive of it! Cute. That's a testimony to your excellent choices in fabrics and perle cotton quilting. You go Grandma!
this is one of my favorite quilts. Love the bright and beautiful colors!
That was a great quilt to put in the festival! It is so lovely!!
A wonderful quilt!! What a treasure for your grand daughter. I made the same pattern in different colors, but haven't quilted it yet. You've given me a good idea about how I may do so!
This is a great pattern and you've done a great version of it. Your granddaughter is lucky to have such a special quilt from you!
Spectacular Quilt! I love your colour choices!
I still love this quilt, and to be honest, I think it is even prettier than the one in the book. Your quilting is gorgeous, too.
I am hoarding a few yards of the background fabric because one day I want to make this quilt, too.:-)
It's so lovely to see this quilt again! It's just so beautiful! I love the backing fabric, it's one of my favourites too.
What a beauty! Somehow I've managed to miss this quilt so I'm glad you chose it for BQF!
It is wonderful to see this quilt again as I love it so.
The quilting is especially nice and the back is wonderful.
I wonder if it's too late to join in. With my power out I am sorely behind!
This is such a cool quilt! The pattern and variety of fabrics makes it so fun to look at! And I love your (AMAZING) hand quilted circles!
The quilt is lovely and an inspiration. I like the quilting as well. When you stitch with the pearle cotton do you find that the knots sometimes slip through? I'm having a hard time getting my knots to stay inside the quilt sandwich, I've tried bigger knots but I wondered if there was a better way.
So pretty, I feel like I would like to snuggle up with it and a nice cup of hot chocolate! don't worry I won't spill!
Love the quilt.....and your quilting gave me an idea for a guilt I have waiting to be quilted. I can understand why the owner of the quilt doesn't want to share.
Beautiful quilt. I can see why it's not being shared.
It is beautiful! Very cozy fabrics and beautiful job!
That is a wonderful quilt. I love the colours, and I wouldn't want to share it either....:o)
Jane
Hi! Greetings from Finland! That quilt is so fantastic! I am speechless! It's so nice to find other quilters all around the world!
Just beautiful Janet. The quilting is exquisite.
One of my favourites from the BQF for sure.
I remember this gorgeous quilt! It's a true work of art...from your glorious color and fabric choices to the wonderful hand quilting you've done. I'm not sure I could have given it away...I might have "loaned" it instead! :)
That is a completely fabulous quilt Janet - I love everything about it. Thank you for sharing and tell the owner I think she's pretty lucky.
Everything about this quilt is just wonderful!!! The bright colors, the quilting (LOVE those variegated circles-- so cool!), and and gorgeous piecing... I don't know that I'd be able to share it either! :)
