Something else to share

Yesterday was the 12th anniversary of my moving to Australia and I think my DH is glad that I did since he sent me these flowers. I'd like to share them with all my readers and friends to say thank you for all the wonderful visits and kind, thoughtful and encouraging comments you leave me. I'm very appreciative and am so glad of the friendships and connections I've made from the community of bloggers that share my love of stitching. You guys often make my day!
I have been trying to be productive in a snail pace kind of way. I'm still making a loaf of sourdough every second day. It's such a soothing and satisfying thing to be making and eating hand made bread. I didn't think Mr Quiltsalott would get so fond of it that he'd let a bought loaf of bread go mouldy.  I'm committed to it now, there's no going back any time soon.
It's been ages since I made any klosje blocks but here's another 19 to add to my pile. I think the total now stands at 168. At this rate, it'll be a slow growing project, not that that matters in the least.
Below is a very piddly little photo but it's really hard to get the whole border in one shot so this will have to do. I just have to join this to the rest of the quilt and then the top is complete. I'll be back to show the whole top soon.

You are way, way ahead of me on the Klosjes and you'll probably stay that way. Cannot wait to see the Stars and Sprigs top done! Woot!

Congratulations! (such pretty flowers.)
I make the bread in a baked enamel pot and it is the only bread we eat now - so easy!
Quilting looks great too.♥

Congratulations on everything. I was in Australia for 6 months last year and my part of my heart is still there. Luckily I will be back for a couple of weeks in February. Your last border is wonderful. Enjoy the slow pace and remember to smell the flowers. (NZ is also amazing. Have only been in the north island). Happy Holidays.

Wow, that border is so beautiful and the work!!! I wonder how many hours it took you? I can't wait to see the rest of the quilt. And your bread looks delicious. I agree with you; there's nothing better than handmade bread. Did you make your sourdough starter yourself? That's something I want to try one of these day. Best wishes Vreni x

Bread making is such a Zen activity! I need to do it more often. It really relaxes me. Staying home while it rises, the delicious smell as it bakes...Lovely.

Your klosjes are lovely. You have more varied backgrounds than I do. Although, in my defence I'm trying to use scraps.

Your border is gorgeous you must be really happy with it. I'm glad you to decided to come to OZ Janet. Next year in March I will have been here 38 years!

I agree with Mr Quiltsalott. Who'd eat store bought bread when there is a loaf like yours on offer? It looks a great loaf, good crust.
The craft work also looks wonderful.

Oh, I used to make homemade bread at least a couple of times a week. So good and homey, and such a nice ritual. I love watching the collection of klosje blocks grow.

Love this post! I can smell the fresh bread! I make chapatis, which are India flat bread like tortillas almost five days of week. I know my family loves the smell of fresh bread in the house.. Nothing like your friends walking in and feeling warm the instance they enter the home!
