A day late

I know now that the klosjes are stitched during the week and shown on a Saturday. Oops, I'm a day late but I think it must still be Saturday somewhere in the world.
Here's the week's worth, all 18 of them.  I do believe my hand stitching is getting a little faster.
I'm waving out to Annemieke she is one of the latest to join in.
I didn't show you the last two applique blocks for Stars and Sprigs. I'd love to move a bit faster on these but I've been distracted, in the nicest possible way of course.
I had some lovely comments on the bread I made and have been asked for the recipe. I don't want to do a whole post as I think there are already some great bread sites and videos on U Tube.
I am using sourdough but I'm making it hybrid using commercial yeast and it's just a basic recipe I made up. We don't like sour, sour bread so this gives a nice flavour and keeps for more than one day.
Here are my amounts in case you're interested.

1/2 cup sourdough starter
1 cup warm water
1 1/2 tsp dried yeast
2 1/2 cups flour ( I use 1/2 cup wholemeal and 2 cups white flour)
1 1/2 tsp honey
1 tsp butter
1tsp salt
If you don't know about this book, where have you been hiding! It's awesome for people with little time and produces a loaf that resmbles that holey, crispy chewy artisan bread. You can find it in most libraries or the basic  technique is on video here. Click here to go to the website.

Would you, could you PLEASE be my sister, or perhaps my friend!?!?!? I come to your blog regularly and am always captivated by your work...be it fabric or food! I am usually so bowled over I can't even comment. Then the sourdough bread posts began. Me and my husband moved and can not get the tangy sourdough we once LOVED to eat. I've tried bread making, but haven't had any great success. Then I read you taught bread making. Oh my?! What am I to do...?! Your needle work is ABSOLUTELY amazing AND you make sourdough bread ... from your own starter. Friends and neighbors shake their heads at me 'cause I roll and cut my own noodles, garden, can and quilt...but your talents are far superior to mine. I want to learn!?!?! Call me 'Grasshopper.' ; )

Oh Janet, it's so delightful to wake and find this beautiful array of klosjes. Over coffee. A great start to my morning. Plus! Your applique blocks for Stars and Sprigs. I'm happy you continue to share your applique with us. No. More than that. I'm grateful. Grateful because I know where I can go to point out the style of applique I want to work with. You make a girl want to be pretty with these blocks. It's a grand way to start the day. Friendship over coffee, *karendianne.

Very pretty blocks. I need to use brighter colors sometimes and this gives me ideas on how to use them. I have that bread book and love it. We are making some awesome loaves of bread, and my 20 yr. old son just made some pumpernickel bread, some oatmeal bread and some rye bread. They were all delicious, rose well and were perfect in every way. It's a wonderful book.

Love, love the spools. Fabrics look just right for them..I have tried the bread but not had much luck with it. Maybe if I use the yeast like you did?? Not sure what my problem was, but just didn't turn out like it should??

Thank you for sharing the bread recipe, it sounds so good and much healthier than store bread. I made a dozen spools yesterday, and absolutely love them! Yours are gorgeous.
