It's called QADD

I'm still hanging out with Kaffe Fassett fabrics but I've veered from my current projects. An all too common occurrence for me. Honestly I have no discipline. I blame Amy and my new book. I have Quilters Attention Deficit Disorder meaning I'm just not the sort of person who sticks to a few projects. I thought I could but I was deluding myself.

The quilt pattern is Pickle Dish from the cover of Quilt Romance. It was calling my name. Mr Quiltsalott told me to make it as soon as I showed it to him. That sealed the deal of course. I'll put a bit more colour in than the pattern and not put in as many dot fabrics. The scrappier the better.
The blocks remind me of this pile of beaded deliciousness.
I've been busy going around these circles, attaching them to the border of that other quilt so I have been good some of the time.
And just so I don't feel totally undisciplined, I am attending to my nine patch swap blocks even if they are a bit last minute.
I'm thinking I might cut my posts down in frequency. I feel a little stale and don't want to risk being too boring. I noticed there are some other blogs wanting to scale down a little bit, or take a break. I think it must be the blog bug going around. I think it might help me to get really stuck into my projects and that will be a good thing.
See you next time, happy sewing!

Yes I admit to having QADD as well, I love that quilt too and its calling my name as well :)
someday. I am working hard at sticking to the list for once!
The list has quite a few projects on it , whats one more ?
Finding the balance between quilting and blogging is something we all need to find.

When Mr. Quiltsalott said for you to make that quilt, Janet, why didn't you just say, "I'd love to dear but the appropriate fabrics are only available in Hawaii!"

Stephanie is right though...he's a keeper!

Gorgeous pickle dish!

Oh Janet you are a temptress aren't you?! The Pickle Dish quilt has been calling my name since I received my new Kaffe book in the mail a few weeks ago....ahhhh...I'm trying hard not to give in to starting anymore new projects right now because I am overwhelmed.
I understand about the blogging thing...it can take over and it does take time.
Anyway, I LOVE your PD blocks and can't wait to see your progress!

I feel like I've been jumping around between projects, but not getting a lot accomplished.

Hi Janet
I suffer from QADD too. I am going to have to get that Kaffe book! I love the quilt on the cover too. I'm just finishing up a baby quilt for our newset grandbaby due Nov 29. We are going to a shower this weekend so after I've given it as a present I can show it on my blog.
Hope you enjoy the day.

But do you want to know what's REALLY bad???? I'm making a Kaffe version of Kathy's (MO) Gypsy Kisses quilt but I also want to start the actual Pickle Dish quilt. Because it's slightly different. I think I'll blame you if I happen to start that. heehee LOVE your arcs! LOVE them! Those beads? Gorgeous, Janet! You're being quite dutiful with all those little circles too. A little new fun on the side of the old fun. That's all it is. Have FUN!

I'm liking the pickle dish...Mr. Quiltsalott has very good taste! (and it would just be rude if we didn't take their advice when our men tell us to go ahead and make something, after all they know us best) Do you gather your circles around freezer paper? they look so perfect (I'm sure that comes from lots of practice b/c mine sure didn't look that good!)

Oh the new quilt will be lovely....I do this all the time, jump from project to project...

OH NO, please say it isn't so! Don't cut back on your blogs entries. I so look forward to seeing what you are working on. You keep me motivated Ms. Quiltsalott!!!!!!!!

Love the Kaffee fabs, wished I could hold them. No one around here carries them. I'm hoping to buy some at the Des Moines Quilt Expo next month. Please keep the pics coming if nothing else, please?!

I NEVER find your blog stale. Your blog is just one great post after another! I love the pickle dish pattern and what you've done with it so far. Your Mr Quiltsalott knows just what to say! :0)

Oh My Gosh!!! I didn't know there was a name for what I have, but you have helped me to diagnose the very disease I, too, suffer from! QADD. Thanks for a great blog, and I invite you to see my blog post today, as I show off my Kaffe stash. Keep up the great work!

I bounce around, too. I think it is a sign of creativity!

for EJ180-

Hancocks of Paduca carries the entire KF line and their catalogue has large photos so you can get a very clear indication of what you're ordering. Not the same as touching the fabric, I know, but the best inventory of KFs that I've found. Their prices are what KF goes for in the US and they are prompt about making deliveries.

If nothing else, go to their website and request a catalogue.

Janet- Add me to the people who will be sad to see fewer blog entries but as a person who set up a blog years ago and rapidly tired of having to make entries I completely understand. Meanwhile, you've shared so much. Thanks ever so.

LOL...don't we all have QADD!!!! It looks great, sometimes we need the variety to prevent us from getting stale....or so I tell myself!

Julia said...

So that's what it's called.."QADD'
now I have a name for my problem!!

That's going to be an awesome quilt..

I think I have QADD too! Is it contagious???

I have to have 3 projects going at once and at least 3 more bubbling away in my mind!

Please don't cut back posting, I love reading your inspirational posts.

Oh, it has a name. QADD. Now I know - don't think there is any treatment for it though.

I love the fabrics you are working with.

I totally understand about blogging. It takes a lot of time and that time goes before you know it! And time at the computer is time not sewing! I'm logging off right now...

QADD - I like that and know all about it! Best wishes, Janet!

Janet you are amazing. So productive! I love this quit and am keen to get my copy which is winging its way to me. Your colours are gorgeous. Are the dots for the Lollipo trees?

I love the quilt your starting! When I first saw a sneak peek of the cover a couple of months ago I fell in love, and now im patiently waiting for my copy of the book to arrive at my local quilt shop. Thank you for the renewed inspiration!

(and I totally agree with QADD, I think we all have it!)

Oh...Oh....Oh...I am resisting the urge to start something new too. Your goodies you are showing here are tempting me....stop it!!...LOL
You're a bad influence on me!!

I too fell in love with the quilt on the cover of Kaffe's book. It's a must. Now all I have to do is convince my niece that this is the pattern she wants for her bed.

Boring? Like that's ever going to happen with all of your stunning work! I LOVE coming to your blog and seeing what fantastic new project you have going on. Your attention to detail is amazing to me!!!

I try to be happy with having projects in different stages so I can always choose between piecing, quilting, or binding but somehow the strongest desire is always to start a new project. I have 2 tops I need to get together but I've convinced myself I can start something if I just get one of the tops done.

Hi Janet,

Love your blog and find your work inspirational. I am trying to improve my applique and have learnt so much from your tutorials. Thank-you. I always look forward to your posts.

Oh, I don't feel so bad now knowing someone else loves starting new projects too.
Love what you are doing. Boy that is a lot of circles which I don't mind making.

I have always loved that Pickle Dish block and it is stunning in the Kaffe fabrics!
You know I share in the QADD. I don't understand people who can start one project and drill through to the end before starting another. I'm always happy working along in my sewing room on one thing and considering the next steps on several others that are on the design wall!

Thanks for diagnosing my condition...QADD. It is so contagious. I think I caught it from blog reading. It may have been from your fabulous blog. Please keep posting as often as you are able.
