I'm still working on small things at the moment, my sewing room is such a mess that I need to get down there and have a clean up before I can work in there.
In the meantime, since I haven't been doing much with quilting, here's a gratuitous shot of my giant pinwheels quilt top I made last year out of Denyse Schmidt fabrics.
Every Autumn and winter I get bitten by the wool bug so I got some balls of wool and my crochet hooks out. I bought this set of clover hooks when I was a teenager so that makes them very vintage.
Last night I was hooking merrily away and here's a sneak peek at what I got done. Hopefully, I'll be able to show it to you maybe next week. It's a smallish project.
The pink fabrics I ordered has arrived so as soon as that sewing room is back in order, I'll be able to use them.
Have a great weekend!
Oh, Janet I can't crochet and I'm soooo envious. Your sneak peek looks awesome and I can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteThe pinks and green fabrics look so cottage-y/shabby chic. I absolutely love them. Wonder what will become of them?
Love those fabrics the colours are yummy.
ReplyDeleteI have not done any crocheting in years, I used to make lap blankets now I quilt.
What happy pinwheels! Can't wait to see more of your crochet. I have my grandma's box of old crochet hooks. I love to play around with them. I don't know that I could keep a nice set like yours together without losing some.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pinwheel quilt -- very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose pink fabrics look so sweet & summery. I have been in a pink mood lately, though I have little of it in my stash.
ReplyDeleteThose pink fabrics look delicious! My favourite colour!

Oh I love your "vintage" crochet hook set. Your pink fabrics are VERY pretty...whatcha making with them?
ReplyDeleteCrispy
I have one 'vintage' crochet hook - LOL!!!! When I lived in Okinawa in 19?? a couple of wonderful mamasans gave me my special hook and taught me how crochet. I can still remember their broken English and my broken Japanese - bet they're still laughing at me. LOL
ReplyDeleteOOOOHHHHH, those pink fabrics look yummy!
I am a cold weather knitter but I am hoping to keep up with my cap making challenge this year. So far I have 6 caps made. Just need to make another 6. Your yarns are lovely.

ReplyDeleteYour "vintage" crochet hook set is great. I love that zippered case. How lucky you are.
ReplyDeleteYou're a fast crocheter, if that's even a word. You got quite a bit done in one evening. I think crochet is a lot of fun and fairly easy so if you make a mistake it's a cinch to fix. Can't wait to see what you're making.
what pretty pinks, they are perfect for your special quilt!
ReplyDeleteI still have some of my aunts knitting needles they have to be over 50 years old!

ReplyDeleteIt seems spring cleaning is happening here in Aus for autumn right now.
Enjoy your cleanup...it's a good feeling isn't it??
I love your quilt top and I sorta get in the mood for crochet too in winter... I'm not a knitter! I don't enjoy it much, but crochet, I do ;)
Your wools and fabrics are so pretty and your progress so far looks so neat.
Wish I had a crochet hook carrying thingy like that...what a good idea... Always have to 'find' mine.
Thanks for sharing.
