Back to colour

I just feel like injecting a bit of colour on the page. This is a Freddy Moran design, it's shown in her book she co-wrote with Gwen Marston called Collaborative Quilting. There's no pattern so I drafted it. Every single fabric is a dot or spot of some kind so I called the quilt "bubble Blowout"
I made it in 2006.
It was an ideal quilt to practice machine quilting on so I did anything and everything I could think of at the time to make it fun and relaxing. It's still fairly soft and cuddly because most of the stitching was done with a fine cotton, the same Mettler I use for applique.
And what better use is there for a quilt ?

Hello,

I just love this quilt.

(And the workmanship. Each of those joins is perfect!)

After a quick glance through your last dozen or so posts, I'm starting to suspect you and I have the same tastes for both patterns and fabrics.... I've wanted everything I've seen!! (To the point where I'm now gushing!)

I'd be really interested to see the Freddy Moran design / choice of fabrics & colours - is there a picture anywhere online that you know of?

So pleased to have found your blog,

Julie

I too discovered "Collaborative Quilts". This is wild and wonderful. The use of circles on circles is really unique. How did you do the circles in the narrow border? What a lucky baby.

I signed up for a Freddy Moran Dot Com quilt class and spent two weeks collecting and having a great time with dotted fabrics. Alas, the class was CANCELLED! Any hints on your drafting of the quilt pattern? I've never done that. Any help would be appreciated, as I can't wait to play with the dots.
