Coxcomb and Currants

All nine blocks are done, tra-la-tra-la. I think I hear birds singing.
Ignore the yellow pen on the alternate blocks, I have a bit of trapunto to do before these can be assembled. When that's done, I have the trapunto pattern for the border to draw up but that can wait.
As a rule, I don't count things like how many applique pieces etc that I do but I was curious as to the number of circles I stitched and 396 is the answer to that.
I'm off to the sewing cave to play with something more colourful, you'll have to wait and see.

  4. Such a lovely block, and it goes well in this quilt. I love how this is turning out. What size will it be and what are you using for the backing? Are you hand or machine quilting?

  10. Stunning, just stunning! You inspired me to draw up the same pattern - I am on block 3 so a way to go yet, but such a gorgeous classic and crisp pattern.

I timed how long it took to sew the 44 currants on one of the blocks - 4.5 hours!

Thanks so much for sharing like you do.

    Kind regards

  50. I cant wait to read your blogs....Janet you absolutely inspire me with your needlework and cooking talents, and your generosity to share.Your inspiration commenced me on my first hand applique quilt... Kim's Lollypop Tree. Have completed 14 blocks, but am having a little break until my finger heals...nobody told me to shield my left hand index finger from all the pricks
