Learning curves and The Vine Quilt.


I've been away the last weekend and tied to the computer learning all sorts of new things I didn't know before now. I'm way behind on my emails and blog reading so I'm sorry and I promise I'll try to catch up this week.
The good news is that my DH and I did a photography class for a day to learn about our new Nikon DSLR D5100 and how to use it beyond the auto button. More on that at a later date.

My other big learning curve has been to work out how to make a blog button. Sorry if you came over yesterday thinking I had posted - false alarm.

The good news is that I now have a humble little blog button for you to grab (which is optional) if you are joining in on the Trailing Vines  quilt along. You'll find it on my sidebar.

I also have a new page called Trailing Vines under my header where you will be able to access the downloads and links to any information. The downloads will only be available though the links provided. The materials list and cutting information is now available.



Thank you so much for the overwhelming interest in my pattern and for all the encouraging comments. Please be kind to me because I've never done this before and if I've made any mistakes, let me know so that I can rectify them.

    You are so very organized that it puts me to shame! I'm won't be able to join the quilt along, although I'm very tempted. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward reading about the process. Congratulations on figuring out how to make a blog button; I've not be able to crack that particular challenge ;(.

    Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. This is exciting and scary at the same time. Happen to be heading to quilt shop later today and will scout out backgrounds and greens. I'm thinking all the strings i've been saving may have dual purposes. Of course there is also that little matter of Kim McLean's Lollypop Trees that also awaits. I'm crazy to start this but would have terrible regrets not to go with the flow --even if I don't keep up. Thank you so much, Janet! You rock!

    Even when we get used to all the technology we use daily, learning more can be taxing to the brain. I took a 3-week class on how to use DSLR's and my brain felt fried after each session but I can do so much more with my camera now that it's absolutely amazing!

    I've had my camera for quite a while and still don't know how to use all of it's features. You were very smart to take a class!

    You did a great job of making the Vines button. I have no idea how to post it on my Wordpress blog though. Doh!
    I hope to try my hand at this pattern...if I can find that hard to find green. :)

    I'm with a few other gals that left comments. I'd love to learn to make a button. I wonder if it's different for wordpress vs. blogspot, etc. How did you start to find out how to make the button? I don't have a lot of tech. skills with the computer I guess. Love your button and I'm thinking I may use the vines as a border for my next quilt and get my "feet" wet that way.
