Doll quilts

Exciting mail arrived with Christine's doll quilt she made just for me and I couldn't be more thrilled, I love it!
 The itty bitty half square triangles are squeal worthy and check out the gorgeous hand quilting. Thanks Christine.
 I love the wooden needle case and needles too that she included in the package.
 I can finally reveal the quilt I made for Christine.

The house blocks are foundation pieced and are 4" It was hard to find a pattern so I just reduced one down until it was the right size. From memory, the quilt measures close to 20" x 15"
I still haven't gotten back to much sewing, I've been sick again with a stomach bug. Hopefully I'm all better for the Sydney Quilt show this weekend. We're spoiling ourselves and staying in the city for two nights. There are plans for a blog meet up but I'm not sure how that's going, domestic flights have been cancelled this week due to volcanic ash cloud.

    I am coveting both of those quilts. Naturally, the little house one is calling my name and I love the very scrappy red and white fabrics you chose. Christine's choice of borders and setting fabrics give her bear's paw some real zip and that quilting!!! Your are both lucky swappers.

    Both these quilts are fabulous! I love the traditional house block- I've always wanted to make one and the doll quilt size might just be what I'm looking for. And the Bear Paw turned on point is fabulous too!! Wonderful colours!

    Lovely little quilts. I absolutly love the red and white schoolhouse quilt. Your blending of so many different reds gave such wonderful depth. Christine is so lucky! So are you, to have that beautiful bears paw from christine. Her hand quilting is just perfection! thanks for sharing. karen.

    What inspirational doll quilts. When you need a project - a start and a finish - this is the way to go but it seems to me, having someone special in mind makes all the difference. Every stitch is made with fine effort and love.
