Santa's coming you know.

The Grandkids are ready, with the tree up and the sacks out no doubt. These are the Santa sacks I've made for the grandkids from Christmases past. I'm behind, I need to make one for my GS but he's just a baby and won't mind this year. When I was a kid, we never called him Santa, he was always known as Father Christmas, when did that change?

This was the first,  from a Homespun magazine, (vol 6.4) with the same Robyn Pandolf fabrics and it's my favourite, it looks oldy worldy. The pattern is called Santa's Treasure sack by hugs n kisses.

I made use of the newer Christmas fabrics at the time for this one. I've smudged out the names I embroidered on the name pillows.

This was the last one I made, fairies were requested so instead of redwork, I made the fabric do the work.

I've been playing with a little stitchery the last couple of evenings so next time, I'll show what I'm going to do with this.

    I too have to make one more stocking for my youngest son's girl friend.
    We put the tree up this weekend and now it feels a bit more like Christmas.

    Lovely strawberry!

    He was, and still is Father Christmas to me - but the rest of the marketing world calls him Santa - blame it on Coca Cola!

    It's good to know they're all prepared for when Santa is coming! So lovely sacks, all different, all sweet. And I love those sweet snowmen on the red print, by you knew that ; ) ....

    Haven't I seen that strawberry before?
    I know - in the Homespun mag, are you going to do something different with it?

    I love them! So you use the sacks instead of stockings? They are really adorable and I'm sure they'll be filled with wonderful surprises for the kids!!

    Love your santa sacks, Janet.

    The first thing that came to mind when I saw them was a Court Jester who always provided entertainment and merriment in the kings and queens courts in days gone by.

    I'm sure your sacks will be filled with goodies to bring your grand children much merriment as well...from Santa, of course.

    I just keep learning new things all the time... hadn't heard of santa sacks before. So cute with the redwork, points, bells!

    I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the pretty strawberry stitchery.

    By the way, the sparkly tree at the top corner of your blog is fun.

    You are very lucky to have Homespun magazine , there is nothing like it in England , I have seen the magazine occasionally . I think it is superb . I like these Santa sacks---------cottonreel
