Welcoming in Autumn

I love Autumn and Spring here in Australia., they are my favourite seasons weather wise. The only down side is that we don't have the gorgeous colour of the deciduous trees because it just isn't cold enough here.
To celebrate Autumn, I have changed the quilt on my lounge wall. This is Indian wedding ring from a Karen Stone pattern and is my first paper foundation piecing project made in 1997 for a guild challenge. I won first prize for it. It's machine quilted in that nylon thread which I wouldn't use again.

    Here in New England we are just going into Spring and it is GREAT!!! A week ago we had 16 degree weather and 8 inches of snow. Yesterday it was 65 degrees and almost that today! So we are REALLLY REALLLY looking forward to some warm weather after the rough winter we've had.

    The result was worth all the work you put into this quilt. I'm not a lover of paper piecing but I love the result. I agree, forget invisible nylon thread.

    I love your quilt, and I especially love the contrast between the brilliant blue and the autumn hues. I, too, miss the bright fall colours of the east coast. Here on the coast of British Columbia we don't see those colours but live in a world of cool blue, gray, and green.

    Wow .... a stunning quilt and this says Autumn for sure! We're slowly limping into spring here in Canada and we look forward to some warmer temps. It has been a very cold winter.
